Who we are

OpenToDeals (opentodeals.com) is run by I. Lloyd Williams, trading as OpenToDeals ("we", "us"). We are responsible for the personal information you give us through this website.

What we collect

When you join early access: your first name, email address, whether you're an owner, buyer or other, the area you're interested in, what you're looking for or have, and whether you'd like launch news.
When you create an account: your first name, email address and password. Your password is handled by our website platform (Wix); we never see it.
When you register interest in a listing or a Founding beta feature: your name, email address and the listing or feature you were interested in.
When you list a property: the details you choose to share about it. We only show the general area unless you ask otherwise.
When you use the site: basic technical information, such as pages visited and the type of device, collected through cookies. See "Cookies" below.

Why we use it

To run your account and show you listings (to provide the service you asked for).
To tell you when OpenToDeals launches, when proposals open, or when a listing you saved changes (because you asked us to, or because it's directly about the service you signed up for).
To send occasional news and new listings, only if you ticked the box to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time.
To keep the site secure, fix problems and understand how it's used (our legitimate interests).
To apply any founding member gift, such as a free owner contact, when that feature launches.

Who we share it with

Wix, which hosts this website and stores the information on our behalf.
If you make a proposal on a listing, the owner of that listing will see the details you include in your proposal. We'll always make this clear before you send anything.

We never sell your information.

International transfers

Our website platform may store information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where this happens, it's protected by the safeguards the law requires, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or approved contract terms.

How long we keep it

Early access and Founding beta details: until we launch and for up to 12 months after, unless you become a member or ask us to delete them sooner.
Account details: for as long as your account is open, then up to 12 months after you close it.
Marketing consent records: for as long as we keep emailing you, plus 2 years.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, ask us to stop using it, object to how we use it, or ask for a copy to take elsewhere. Email hello@opentodeals.com and we'll reply within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113). We'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.

We use essential cookies to make the site work. With your permission, we may also use analytics and marketing cookies (for example, to understand which pages are useful or to show relevant adverts). You can change your choice at any time using the cookie banner.
